I'M PRACTICALLY FAMOUS NOW. I CAN'T EVEN WALK OUT IN PUBLIC NOW. NOT THAT I COULD BEFORE. I'M ALWAYS STANDING OUT TOO MUCH.

I've not written a journal in a long time on here, actually.
I've mellowed out a lot on here. I enjoy looking at all of the wonderful artworks here on DA! It's very inspiring to be around other artists. Although sometimes I end up looking at art more than I do making art.
In the real world I've picked up some actual paying art jobs, which is very exciting for me and down right fun to get money for something that's not...my normal job lol.
I am currently working on a comic book of me and my folks while we were on vacation. I was thinking about posting it, but my family is very..unique. lol Some of the comics are so personalized that I'm afraid a lot of people wouldn't get them. Anyway, there's several books for each year that I've done and only now do I feel as though I've become good enough in my family comics to post them online . (Thanks to the SSB Dounjinshi) I've finished 2015's book and maybe I'll post them, so you guys can enjoy them. WELL, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ME AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN A COMIC??

In other news, I've been progressing in my faith and relationship with God and learning more about spiritual warfare this year. It's been a trip. I've been finding out enemy tactics and starting to see just how many lies are all around in my culture. The more I draw along side God the more I see clearly. It's not that He seems to speak up more sometimes then quiet others, but it's more so that I begin to listen more and the more that I do that the more I hear from God. I've come to believe that we never wait on God, but God always waits on us. To listen, to obey, to submit, to enjoy what is already ours.
Anyways. thank all of you guys for being around and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
PS: quick question.. Anybody going to the Ohayocon in Ohio this upcoming year?
My friend wanted to go as Redeemed Riven froM League of Legends and so now we're making all of this armor. I've never made costume armor before! This is crazy!

FROZEN ALIVE

I haven't done much on here..
I've been pretty busy doing things in my non computerized life. So, if you thought that I was working on some big project... Weeeell.... Not so much. Sorry.
I have been however, working on a few drawing projects.
I hope to show off my latest SSB comic to everyone soon and reorganize my comics, rename them, add a cover page to them.
But until then... I'll just post some of my sketches.
I was looking at some of my old journals and I saw the one I posted last winter about my turtles. I find turtles so interesting!
I wanted to post it again! =]
As you might know, I have a whole lot of turtles
.Everybody knows box turtles hibernate during winter, but box turtles truly take "hibernation" to another level. Linger a few minutes too long in subzero weather, and you'll "freeze to death." But our loving Creator gave certain intrepid animals, which are forced to winter in the cold, their own antifreeze. They can literally be "frozen alive" and emerge unharmed.
When a box turtle begins to experience chillier temperatures, its liver releases lots of glucose (a simple sugar) into the bloodstream. The sugar is then concentrated in various organs and acts as a sort of biological antifreeze. The places that are the most protected are the liver, heart, and blood serum. The brain and eyes are also filled with glucose.
So, when it's cold enough that ice is forming around the turtle, it also forms inside the turtle as well! Even the lungs become icy chunks of tissue. Sometimes when temperatures get really frigid, the heart stops beating!
It's like a temporary "death" without decay. Isn't that awesome?!
When the turtle thaws out it appears no worse for the ware.
When spring arrives, the various organs gradually "come back to life." This is kind of a "death and resurrection" every winter and spring.
Now, painted turtles stay in the water through all of winter.
I walked outside by my little pond and I saw my painted turtle in a swimming position, looking very frozen, underneath 3 or 4 inches of ice. Scared my mom, but I was like "Whoa, that's cool! Wow, Lord.. how'd you do that?" XD
Just like fish they stay in the bottom of the pond, the surface of the water freezes and the fish go into a state of torpor(It's like hibernation, but not as much
). Winter usually doesn't last long enough to freeze through the entire pond, just the top and this actually traps more heat for the fish below.
Now, for these lung-breathing animals, however, this poses a new problem - how to get oxygen! Frogs solve this by absorbing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide across their skin. The tougher skin of turtles is not so obliging but some species, like snapping turtles, can take up some oxygen from the water across the skin lining the throat. Others, like my painted turtles, have altered their metabolism to survive without oxygen!
In cold water, painted turtles can stay submerged for as long as 3 months with zero blood oxygen!
And our brain starts dieing after the first 4 minutes of no air!
God must really like turtles. I like them them too. He made them awesome. ^^"

I go over to her, she looks at me, and I say "About 30 million neurons are activated in your brain every time you see a human face." and she says "How many neurons am I wasting?"

Okay, okay, she's not really mean. She's just mean.
We're mean like this all the time in a funny way.
Like my family is really close to each other, but we can seem mean and blunt sometimes. Like, tough love.
I do the same thing with her sometimes.
Like, I was planting sunflower seeds in my mom's garden for her and my sister comes up and asks about it and I told her mom wanted new flower seeds in her garden. My sister says "But why sunflower seeds? Mom says all they do is take up space and suck all the nutrients out of the earth." and I was like, "Yeah well, so do you."
But just so you all know, she's more mean than I am. ...Really.
